Everyone that knows anything about rap knows that its just another form of poetry. Platinum is know different. Bred in Binghamton, New York and now making moves in Greensboro, NC, this lady is pushing the bar for other female MC's. As a child Naila Cole enjoyed writing poetry but, by 14 she knew she wanted to rhyme. Admiring the skills of other females in the game such as Eve she knew she had to come hard.
Givin the name PLATINUM due to the platinum bars that she spits, little mama is giving her listeners a better understanding of who she is. She uses her trials, tribulations and moods to help others understand that everyone lives yet, life doesn't have to be a negative factor to your future. Platinum understands that networking is key. You can find her hitting up local open mics in her area, building a major fan base everywhere she goes. The importance of a supportive fan base that will encourage her as an artist, listen, and speak on her talent is the way she is making her presence known.
When asked what mainstream artist she would like to work with Ms. Cole threw out some heavy hitters. She would have loved to work with Tupac for his floetry, Eve for her lyracism, Jadakiss to keep that NY swag and Eminem because everyone knows Em is just sick. Platinum is also a fan and would love to work with Jeezy and T.I. “The King”. Her thoughts on the rap industry..... “the rap industry is rapped up”. Platinum feels that you have to have a certain look to get a deal but, that doesn't give an artist the total package. Rappers are no longer lyrical, which can be agreed with all the dance songs. There are few true MC's in the industry. Real Hip-Hop lives underground (spoken as a true lyracist).
