HB Artist Insider: Producer J Manifest

North Carolina’s J. Manifest is more than just a producer. He’s a business man behind the beats. Coming from Rocky Mount, Jerard ‘Manifest’ Wiggins proved his rare ability of being a great emcee and producer at the very beginning of his young life. High-quality production remained the ‘focus’ of Manifest’s motives, which would soon land him in the mist of engineering at the early age of 13. Responsibly determined, Manifest took it upon himself to play around with musical instrument sounds, from piano keys to drums, until his entire neighborhood was familiar with his production wisdom & craft.

Each weekend would arrive, and the super producer-to-be would make sure to be present at all of the city’s rap battles, hosted by Rocky Mount’s main radio station, WRSV Soul Jams 92.1. Using his double sword talent, J. Manifest would win every single battle in the city, only confirming his gift for music. Manifest carried that impressive winning title up until the rap battles were cancelled but didn’t stop there. During high school, the young music chief would leave sports practices and go over to East Sound Studio, where he obtained his very first job as an engineer. Manifest ventured into the ‘independent artist’ lane for only a brief era, but he’d soon find out that being an artist wasn’t his truest niche.

Luckily, his music focus and his decision to manifest his dreams still opened up doors for him –leading him to his real music purpose – super producing and engineering. With recent music placement/credits under his belt like working with: Poe Boy Music Group, MMG artists, Project Pat, Max B, Beanie Sigel, Young Buck, and Smack DVD/URL battles, Manifest continues to create top notch projects with artists of all breeds. This includes recently producing MMG's Rick Ross's track "Drug Dealers Dream" on his new Mastermind album.

In 2001, amazing things began to happen for J. Manifest. He teamed up with a few fellow NC producers, which would help him to sharpen his producing skills and recording techniques. As mentioned earlier, Manifest, has always been equipped with the luxurious ideas of branding, which birthed his ‘Kickz-N-Snarez’ clothing label, inspired by fashion and music. A plethora of hoodies, varsity jackets, and t-shirts come from this musically influenced clothing label, and are include custom designed images. M.E. MusicWorks studio located in the heart of Carolina (Raleigh, NC), is presently the super producer’s place of business. Many of the state’s most focused indie artists come to this man for ideas, consultation, and most importantly ‘high quality recording and production’. There is only more greatness to come from this ‘King’ of a producer. To stay in tune with what J. Manifest will present next, visit www.legionofmuzik.com and www.kickznsnares.com .
